jhcamp
serves children who have experienced the death of a loved one by
providing the environment and education necessary to make choices in
their lives that lead to their joy and happiness.
jhcamp is a weekend long camp for children 8-12 and teens 13-17 who have
experienced the death of someone they love. jhcamp is a community where
campers can speak openly about their loss, learn about the grieving
process and the keys to happiness through group activities led by
professional counselors, and receive support and encouragement from
caring adults.
A play-work-play approach to the weekend provides an intense education
in the grief process, keys to happiness, and builds self-confidence
while the children laugh, play, and make lifelong friends.
Losing someone you love is difficult, no matter the circumstance.
jhcamp believes that after a loss, pain and sadness are natural
responses, but suffering is not necessary. Joy and hope are possible. |
